Accreditation and use of the LATAZ logo
Individuals and organisations are hereby advised that LATAZ does not provide any accreditation for institutions, qualifications, courses or individuals. There are government and private institutions with such particular accreditation mandates.
As a membership association, LATAZ is for language and literacy teaching professionals, institutions other teacher associations to join. It does not accredit or attest to the value, merit or quality of any individual, course, qualification, or organisation, including its individual and institutional members.
While members are welcome to refer to their membership of the association, and any volunteer role they have had or are currently holding within LATAZ, they should not:
- refer to their membership as a qualification or evidence of professional competence
- use the LATAZ logo, or amend/adapt it in any way (see below)
- use the LATAZ logo to gain a pecuniary advantage.
LATAZ brand and logo Use
The use of the association logo shall be restricted to the LATAZ website, Social Media platforms, LATAZ Special Interest Group (SIG) web pages and official publications, stationery and communications from LATAZ itself. The LATAZ logo and the motto of “connecting, developing and supporting language and literacy teachers” word marks are forms over which we exert prior usage claims. However, other products and company names featured on the website may be the trademarks of – or subject to prior usage by – their respective owners. All contents of this website, including any logos, text and software, are protected by copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights. Individuals and organisations wishing to reproduce parts of the website may do so only with permission from LATAZ. Our provincial and district committees should ensure that they protect the logo and brand from abuse.
The LATAZ logo and acronym may appear on some organisations’ websites and documentation during or after joint projects or ventures. This appearance, however, whether with or without our permission – should not be misconstrued to imply our endorsement of that organisation’s work, products or services.
LATAZ implores its members (and non-members) not to use the LATAZ logo without specific and explicit agreement from the association. Should any inappropriate use of the logo be made known to us, LATAZ will request such companies, institutions or individuals using the logo or wording against our wishes, to remove it immediately.
Rule Breach Penalties
Considering that the use of its name and logo is a serious matter bordering on identity, LATAZ will act on any misuse it becomes aware of. Please contact the LATAZ Secretariat if you become aware of a breach of these rules. The association reserves the right to seek appropriate remedies, legal or otherwise, to all reported name and logo abuses.
